I just got a great juvenile Mbuna selection for my 55G. All the Mbunas are 1 1/2-2", so how often would you suggest feeding for a good growth rate without overfeeding. Anytime I walk near the tank, they are all over the glass with the "feed me face" and happy fins...major chow hounds! :shark: Thanks for the help.

2-3 times a day provided the diet is varied and you clean out the excess.

Cichlid flakes, pellets, and frozen brine shrimp (but this once a week), and just like RB said you can feed them 2-3 times a day, granted you do pwc's...and the gravel vaccing of the poo...just give them small amount that should be gone in no more than 3 minutes...and the reason they do that is because they think they are hungry, for which they are not...so just do small amounts of food for them and ya will be okay...

Cichlid flakes, pellets, and frozen brine shrimp (but this once a week), are not.....

my lfs has "spirulina enriched"frozen brine shrimp. i would recommend those for your tank, and i agree no more than once a week. if you feed them too much protein, they could die from bloat because their systems are made to eat spirulina (a high protein algae) as a staple.
