to have an RO unit installed?? we are currently spending about £20 a month on RO water... we have our new tank on order and the water outlay will go upto roughly £40 a month...not sure what that is in dollars (double?)
In your opinions is it cheaper in the long run to get an RO unit, does it way up with the cost in electricity and water usage?
cheers

You have a big tank in the works right? You'll easily save money even without factoring in time and gas to go get water from a LFS.

I reckon it's more cost effective and I'm even on a water meter here in the jolly UK. You don't need electricity to run it - it works on your water pressure. It's also not just the money issue though, it is so much easier to have your water on hand especially if you need to do an emergency water change when your LFS happns to be closed.

OK.. I think we are going to go for one.. apparently because we don't have copper pipes under the sink (new House) we can connect it to the garden tap which is handy...

what is ro water and im guessin a ro unit makes the water but how
RO= reverse osmsois
RO/DI= reverse osmosis distilled
The unit doesn't make water, it purifies it.

no.
DI = De-Ionized ... entirely different from distilled.
Whoops, you're right. Thanks for the correction.
