does any 1 know if i put a black light in a tube and made it water tight an flowed water on the out side of it would it work ? its a 4ft tube like the 1s in night clubs ?

no. blacklights that you can buy at regular stores (the purple-painted bulbs) are not the same thing as an actual UV light. it would not work, and would make the tank look very dirty.

most uv lights you run though a input of a filter or power head.
