I know it's been referred to as a pest, but what is it exactly and is it harmful? I have a few real big ones and a lot of small ones. I bought some Joe's Juice to get rid of them but I can't bring myself to do it, they are live creatures and the big ones look so cute :eek3: Any info., suggestions, comments, etc. appreciated.

keeping them is a personal issue...they ill compete with existing animals and can quickly become a problem over running the tank.
but I know a few folks who like them and leave them. I had a few..I treat them as a problem and remove them.

They'll burn your fish. Kill any worms. Spread like wild fire. And soon you'll have a tank full of them. They do make good excess nutrient exports though.

If you're wanting corals or anemones of any sort I'd get rid of the aiptasia. If you only wish for fish and like the look of aiptasia you'd not be alone in keeping them. Shoot....I hear that years ago they'd actually sell and trade them. What is a pest or desirable in one's tank is typically up to the reefer's plans.
