Our tank has been up for a little over two months.
All the numbers look good.

Ammonia=0
ites=o
ates<20
phosphates=0
copper=0
sg 1.025
We have been doing weekly 10% water changes.
As my sig states, one non perc and orange spotted goby.
We recently added a Cardinal bangi, it was dead in about 3 days. We waited a few weeks. Added a purple firefish. Everything was going well 10 days later dead?

Any help would be great. I think it may be the Goby he seems to be a little aggressive?:confused:

Your doing a slow drip acclimation? Also is the LPS in which you purchase them churning livestock in and then out? IE gets it one day and sends it packing the same day? I try to watch fish that I want for a week (but then I have that luxery) before I buy.. Just to make sure they don't die as soon as I get them home.

Those are my ideas.

I agree with Clown Lover alot of pet stores get the fish in and sale them right away with out holding them for any length of time and that leads to double the stress on a fish..I had that happen to me with a clown fish and the store told me when he died that they had just got him in on trade the day before.Now I always ask how long they have had the fish and if they haven't had it long I have them hold it a week or so for me then I buy it..

I do appreciate all of the help. We are doing slow drip acclimation. My LFS is a saltwater only store, some things I see moving regulary and some things are around for a little longer.

It is truly a pristine store i visited every salt water fish selling establishment in hour drive before we bought our tank. He does a ton of corals and live rock and I have very rarely seen any unhealthy looking livestock.

My bigest worry is that it is only the two new fish that I had problems with. My False perc and goby are as active as ever?

That is the same with my LFS..A great store very healthy fish and corals.But if they haven't had the fish long then the fish is suffering from stress and then it is taken out of the tank and thrown in a bag and then stressed more buy going in to new water.I think with your other fish being healthy and happy that is was probably the fish were stressed..

I agree with the others...you could be getting fish that are new arrivals. Ask how long something has been there and if it is less than a week definitely wait on it. Anemones would be an exception as are a few others probably.

Another possibility, the fish store might be fine but their source might not be. They could be using cyanide to catch stock.

I have had a terrible time getting shrimp to live. Lost two over the past 3 months. Changed the store I was getting them from and now this new one seems fabulous.
