Hey guys,
Most of you have either never heard of me or barely remember me, but I used to be quite a regular around here. Something just came to my attention that I think the music lovers on the board deserve to know about.
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will be making their network TV debut on the Tonight Show on 8/2. I'd never heard of them until I caught them as an unbilled opening act for Indigenous, and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones last year. The group performs soulful yet edgy blues/rock and Grace's incredible pipes have the raw energy of Janis Joplin with the soul and control of Bonnie Raitt. Their last album, "Nothing But Water" is one of my favorite cd's (and I've got over 400). The TV appearance is in anticipation of their upcoming cd "This is Somewhere" which is to be released 8/7.
So if you're interested in a band that sounds great on cd and performs with great energy live, do yourselves a favor and check 'em out. Thank me later.
