Guess who will be one as of tomorrow?

Went in to buy my shrimp yesterday and the manager is in my club. He found out I was looking for part time work (I have my own small business but with a son in college part time will help keep me out of trouble and him in books) so as of today I'm hired.

The good news is that they will allow me to refuse to sell something. They believe in educating the consumer and turning them into loyal customers versus hey give that guy a bunch of damsels to cycle that new tank. And woohoo a bigger discount. =)

Big Store or small?
 
Congratulations! Welcome to the club! I work at 2 (part time of course, in addition to a veterinary office assistant), one a pet store with a marine section and the other is a specialty reef store. Glad to have another well informed person in the ranks. It gives us a better reputation
 
My LFS is going completely computerized right now so they are in the process of entering in all the SKU's

I offered to help inventory the stock after they get that side done as I have a fair bit of knowledge in that and other areas of retail financial management. He took me up on the offer, and maybe I might see aobut a bit of extra work there as it would be nice to make some extra money to pay for this addiction... lol
 
Small store, has more SW than FW. I know a little FW but need to brush up on it. Now to keep myself from buying something EVERY freaking day. Oh and Amp, the owner was in when I was having my interview and she was trying to talk me into being groomed to open a new store near my house. I'm going to try to resist that.

I'm really looking at this job as a chance to get to play with the tanks and learn more about some of the species I don't have.
 
Congrats Grins.I am happy for you..Now I need to amke a trip to NC to a LFS so maybe I can get a discount..lol..BTW I grew up in NC
 
Cove City NC,,about 30 minutes from Raleigh..We don't have a area reef club around here.Our closet saltwater pet store is in another state..It is really small town USA here,,we just got a Walmart here a few moths ago that is how rural and small we are..lol..
