No, I'm going to do it. I was wondering how the world's oldest goldfish managed to survive in a bowl until the age of 43 yrs. That must be no more then five gals.
Also, that's terrible that someone kept a goldfish in a bowl for that time span and didn't get a proper tank. You'd think someone experienced enough to keep a fish alive for that timespan and claimed to love their fish, would get a proper sized tank.

Lucky?.. lucky for the life span not the life quality. Life quality must have been awful for this fish like keeping a dog in a broom closet and otherwise taking good care of them. The goldfish was constantly jumping out....Hmmm maybe because si was horribly cramped?.
Also I'll bet some people will see this and decide keeping goldfish in bowls is just fine, I mean why not if the world's oldest goldfish survived that way/.

i think that might be the ugliest goldfish ever. at least, it doesn't look like a normal goldfish.

if you follow the link to the next link (BBC) it says he was "found dead at the bottom of his bowl after a week-long illness).

Wow, thats just lucky he lived that long in such a tank. My oldest goldies are around 17 years old. I gave them a long time ago to my former neighbor, where they still inhabit his pond to this day.
