Nice new pad. :)
FYI, If you want them to mate, get some dry brown oak leaves and soak them to leach out the tannis. It will take about a week to remove most of it, and you'll need to change the water once a day. Then add the leaves to their tank, and keep it up. Unlike shrimp, they will actually eat the leaves, and the microbes that eat the leaves.

when i have seen brown oak leaf mentioned i just thought is was food, how does it help them to breed?
wasnt planning to breed i just think its better for them to have a mate if they wish, if they do they do, but i might just give it a try any way cheers.

I can't find the reference now, but I'll keep looking. From what I remember the leaves help stimulate the crayfish. Mating does occur without them, but it's more likely with the leaves. When I added some to my Yabbie tank, Digger and Hunter mated the next day. I don't think it was solely the result of the leaves, but it must have helped.

They need to be hardwood leaves. Oak and maple are the best because they don't affect the ph levels much.
