I have 3 angels, 2 large and one small, in a community tank. The large ones always leave the small one alone and haven't really fought eachother until a few days ago (I've had them for a year). Its terrible. The larger angel hides and the other will chase him from his cave and attack relentlessly. My larger angel has a chunk of scales missing, one of his front fins is almost gone, and his other fins are frayed. I don't have another tank available to separate them. Could I add some dither fish like danios to disperse the aggression? I've been feeding a lot of frozen meaty foods... is that causing this sudden aggression? Should I stop? Should I take any precautions like adding aquarium salt or medicine to prevent infection because of the missing scales? Thanks in advance!

my pH is 7.6, the ammonia and nitrite are at 0. Its a planted 55 gallon. The temp is 76F degrees

3 powder blue gouramis, 5 black neon tetras, 5 cherry barbs, 5 guppies, 2 platies, an algae eater (I'm not sure what its called... Its not very common) and I have 3 baby (about 1") parrot cichlids ( which will be moving to their new tank soon. They are too small to be with my baby 4" oscar)

You say you have had them over a year. Two may be males and showing aggression. That's normal. They are animals.

You can get dividers at the lfs or online. They are not too expensive.

as far as preventing disease, adding melafix will help the larger angel to regrow scales and prevent infection, as will increased water changes, maybe twice a week. it sounds like your other two have paired up and want to get rid of their competition/enemy. overall, you are lucky you got a whole year of peace out of them. i am dealing with a similar problem and have only had my little beasts since january.
