Cannister >diffuser set.I can`t find a picture anywhere.

Do I run the cannister output into the diffuser>output diffuser into the tank>then the tank output back into the cannister?

The system has 5 shut off levers in the hoses,I thought I was seeing 2 inputs going into the cannister but now looks like it might be a valve spliced in for draining purposes only.Two hours of confusion help.

If you have any in-line equipment at all (reactors, heaters, UV, etc) they always go on the canisters OUTPUT. You never want to put dirty water through these utilities.

I'm not sure what this "5 shut off levers" are and all but this is the general rule for any canister filter so...

It`s a reactor rather than a diffuser.The valves stop water flow when you want to clean the filter or hoses I guess.That`s the way it came.
