Hi, I am a new tank builder. I have had goldfish (feeder fish, go underdog) I was going to get some nice schooling fish and ended up being talked into a
GSP. I have been doing a lot of research as I am cycling my tank now. I do not have GSP yet. I have cycled with live bacteria water conditioner and also
put in a cured live rock. I thiink SG is under control, but my hydrometer starts at .010, I need to buy another that registers .005 and up I guess. The GSP has been in brackish conditions, what SG is ideal to transfer to? I can choose a skittish bueatiful GSP or a smaller skinny friendly (is that possible) GSP. The small one looks worse for wear from shipping, he appears to have blacker skin and his belly is black not white- is that from stress?? He is so skinny compared to the skittish one that looks just like photos I have looked up. Otherwise, he appears to be green with spots. I see no fin tearing or fungus. I would prefer the smaller one, is it unlikely he will get healthier? My store seems responsible and knowledgable( private store, same people working)and I told them he looked sick but that I was interested in him over the other due to size. Any advice is welcome, please I would prefer not to be a fish murderer!
