Okay well this sunday I am HOPEFULLY getting a new tank for 20 bucks just a tank, and then I get paid in a week or two so I'm going to go buy filters and a heater, oh crap.. I just thought of lighting lol I don't think there is a hood but I can probably buy one at a store or something!

Anyways I am hoping to put my fish from my 10 gal into the new tank and I am hoping to grow plants in the 10 gall. I really don't know that much about plants, or buying them or growing them in a tank. I need something simple, like I don't even know if I need to have some special type of rock in the tank or something else? but I think plants would look gorgeous and I think I'm going to go with just a few tetras in the tank or maybe a couple danios and a Betta.

This would be a great project for me, as a learning experience the new fish tank is 3 feet lenght 18 3/4 height just over 12 inches width and eventually I want even bigger and with plants so do o plants in the 10 galleon would be great.

I want something that will look pretty, My lfs has plants but he has them in kitty pools and petcetera has plants as well. How do you buy plants? I don't think i seem them labled.

Okay well I am done my long post!

thanks guys for your help, I need as much as I can! lol

I would suggest java fern, java moss, and anubias. They require only low light and are easy to take care of.

My favorite resource for plant information is www.rexgrigg.com.
