Calcium Rich Snail Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 cups finely chopped collard greens (about 1/3 head of fresh collards)
3 cups calcium enriched Ol'Roy dry dog food
1 zuccini
1 packet Hikari algae wafers
1 jar green bean baby food
1 jar carrot baby food
1 jar peas baby food
1 jar garden vegetables baby food
4 tropical fish weekend feeders
3 whole eggs (with shells)
3 cups all purpose flour (NOT self rising) (flour is to thicken the mixture)
Preheat oven 300*
Chop ingredients in food processor until mushy. Spoon small dabs onto greased cookie sheet and flatten a bit.
Bake at 300* for 20 minutes.
Let cool. I place them on a plate in my freezer for about 20 minutes so they become firm before bagging.
Put biscuits in ziplock bags and keep in freezer until use.
To feed, simply take one from the freezer and drop it in the tank. It will sink instantly. Remove any leftover biscuit within 24 hours. Great nutrition for snails and bottom feeders such as plecos.
I made a trip to Walmart and the grocery store, and I came up with this recipe. I dropped one in my 29g and my pleco went straight for it. I think she's full now, but she's hanging out about 3 inches from it and jumping on any fish that tries to come near it... she's guarding it!? hehe I'm so excited. It doesn't take much I guess. :)

I'd get an aluminum air bake non-stick cookie sheet and discontinue greasing the cookie sheet. I don't think that's a good addition to your tank no matter how small the amount of grease.

Pfft share my collard greens? No I don't think so.

The parchment paper.... is that the same as wax paper? I didn't think of that.

It wasn't actually "grease" grease that I used. I should have specified I used Pam. I looked over dozens of snail biscuit recipes online, and all said "greased pan" or Pam, so it never occured to me it would cause any problem. I'm not actually convinced that it will considering many people use it. I'm going to check out that parchment paper idea though.

parchment paper is not typical wax paper, but you can find it in the same place at the store. People use it to bake cookies and breads on, cause you don't need any oil and nothing sticks to the paper. Easy cleanup--roll up and throw away.
