Some leopard slug photos, some just chillin and a 'couple' doing the slug nasty. I've got my hand next to one so you can get an idea how big they are.

LOL! The comments crack me up! I don't keep them as pets, they've been coming out now since we've been getting some much needed rain here in northern Ohio. Now it's time for them to get their groove on....I'm such a dork! Also means it's time to watch your step if you go outside at night!

the only slugs we get around here are really little.

the biggest I've seen aroung here was about 4"-5"..
I also raised about 20 eggs that I found under a log, they hatched into a bunch of white baby slugs..lol

If you feed your pet dogs or cats outside these slugs will come and feast on the leftovers. These are native whereas the small whitish slugs are invasive non-native.

I realized the cat food eating part when we fed one a piece of cat food and it went to town on it! We've fed them raspberries too and they loved them. I read up on them, yeah, they are native and do little to no damage to vegetation as they are mostly scavengers and more on the carnivorous side, whereas those smaller brownish garden slugs are the culprits behind many a destroyed hosta and other plants, which are like you said, non-natives.
I like them in my tank but not the terrestrial ones. Ick.

Nice of you to notice! Ya, I've done that, just been lazy about it cuz I had been working in the flower gardens, but they are nicely painted now...LOL!
