Hi, would saltwater wrott fishing line? Im considering suspending some live rock from the glass bars on my aquarium with fishing line to get a "hovering rock" look? this probably sounds crazy. thanks:banhim:

oh and what temperature should my aquarium be at? I currently have lots of live rock which i will be adding anemones etc to and then eventually add a couple of clowns but going down the reef line. ta
Hmm it should be fine but instead of fishing line I'd use zip ties. We use them at the store in one of our display tanks for the same thing.
A temp of 78-81 is good but I personally believe it is OK to let it swing just a bit more.

Last time I checked fishing line is plastic...
Wich takes *forever* to decompose.

Awsome idea. Any pics of suspended rock in someones tank? a nice suspended bridge off pegged rock along the back would leave a bunch of swim room since they wont need a base to rest on and a great coral area.

personally, i would always use fishing line if something is required. Far less obtrusive and is covered over very quickly indeed...
last time i checked, i also noted fishing line was plastic too...hmmmm
Glad to see a new avi Julian...FINALLY

thanks alot for your replies - i will post a picture when i suspend the rock - i think i will have to choose some very porous rock so it is lighter though and get some strong fishing line otherwise it may be catastrophic - not lol - he he

14 or 16lb breaking strain line would be plenty good enough...just checked the thickness of them, and they are 0.31mm and 0.33mm respectivly...
