I know snails can co-exist with plants (in fact, live off them) but I'm more concerned about the health of snails in a tank where plants are regularly fertilized. I'm particularly concerned about iron supplements being harmful to the snails. Any advice?

I have kept ramshorns in my planted tanks that were heavily fertilized and they thrived but I have never had much luck with Mystery snails. They seem to just lay on the bottom. I do have a dedicated Mystery snail tank now and I do dose Micros but only once a week at half the dose and it doesn't seem to bother them.

Iron does not effect snails, but copper will kill them.
I have an insanely active apple snail in my 10 gallon, I fertilize with Flourish regularly and she seems to be fine.

I can't keep plants with my Apple Snail (unless they are for his dinner) because he eats them all. Every bit!
