Today i got a pair of baby cichlids from a family friend who is a breeder. I only have a 20 gallon and a 5 gallon tank so for sure i cannot keep these 2 but i am giving them away to a friend who has a cichlid tank. She will be picking them up in a few days so me keeping them in my 5 gallon tank should be okay. They are about 1.5inches and are 2 months old if memory serves me. But just for myself i would like to know what type of cichlids im currently 'sitting'.

They are Convict Cichlids, the one outside the pot is female, the one inside does appear to be male.

sorry just noticed i spelt convicts wrong. And the reason why i say that the one in the pot is a female is because she/ he looks orange in the mid body, but it could be the terracotta playing a part in the colouring. . . .sorry

The orange on the one inside the pot could be the reflective coloring of the pot on the Convict due to the lighting in the tank.

One female. Cant tell the sex of the other in the pot, although the head shape looks to be a Male.
