I am having the hardest time to keep my tank temperature lower. It's contstantly 80-82 degrees F. I have a light made for a freshwater tank that puts out very little heat I'm sure. I think my problem may come from my cheapo heater that came with my starter kit. It doesn't have any indicators of where you are supposed to set it other than a line that designates the "76-80 degree range."

Then a slight turn on the knob should lower the temp 1-2 degress. Well I have gradually moved this thing all the way down as far as it would go and my temp is STILL 80-82 degrees. I keep the A/C on in my house to about 77 or 78 degrees during the day and open the windows at night which lowers the house temp to about 70-72 degrees. Still, nothin'

What can I do? I want get a better heater and maybe a digital thermometer, do you think this would work?

Thanks

Go to the General Marine forum and click on the heatwave thread to read how some of us are coping in the SouthEast right now.

Yeah they are actually photoshopped clownfish/rhino combo. I got it from this website:
