I was looking at the tank today and I see that some of my coralline is turning from dark purple to light purple. Will try to post some pics tomorrow. It seems to be doing this on one side of the tank and it is towards the bottom, and only on a couple of rocks. Is there lighting problems or water problems, I know that my Nitrates are high have been working to get them down. Fish seem to be doing fine and I think that I may have some coral or some kind of polyp growing (will try to get pics tomorrow for identification). Any help tonight would be great.

Unless it turns white, its not dieing..Corraline algae colour depends a lot on light...Different light types and ratings will produce different shades of colour...I would say its nothing to worry about personally..

thanks guys, my lights are way under par right now I think I'm around 1 watt per gallon. I know I need to be around four but there is that thing called money. I'm trying to save to upgrade. I tried to take some pics but they all come out so bad that you can't make anything out in them. Any pointers on how to fix that.
