View Full Version : Minimum tank size for oscar?

just wondering what size tank an oscar is best suited for and if they are pretty good beginner fish? I am probably not going to get one maybe in the future i was just wondering

they are okay in a 75 but really need a 90, and anything else with them is food.They make great pets, like leting you pet them and hand feed them and such and are really simple to care for BUT they are really, really messy fish.

I agree. A 75g tank is the bare minimum for an oscar for life. As for them being an "easy" fish, I would say so, as long as you have a large enough tank, a good diet (no goldfish feeders), and overfiltration.

I always thought it was a 50 gallon... Well that's what I heard anyways.

Ive always heard a 55 is the MINIMUM -- but thats like a goldfish in a bowl =D
