Basically that's my question, what does a snail without a shell look like? what color? I'm particularly referring to Astrea Snails.

Reason being, the other day I was looking at the LR in my tank and saw what looks to be a snail, but it has no shell, it moves just like a snail and it is ALL black (the top), I didn't see the bottom.

Does anybody know what it is? could be?

Could it be a nudibranch?

I didn't know what flat worms and nudibranches were until now. I looked at some pictures of both and definitely not them.

I did a search on black stomatella on goggle but they don't have a lot of pictures, the only ones that come close to are the very first 2 pics.

The creature definitely had no shell and it had the appearance of a snail. I have not seen it since, it must be hiding amongst the rocks.

Funny...I did the same search to see what you were looking at and only the 3rd page, rwilliams254's son comes up..lol

Does it look anything like Melev's?

The shell can be quite small and not as noticable as the one is in the photo.

The color definitely matches, the shape is a little different. the one I saw had the head of a snail (you know with the little eyes and antennas). It was a hitchhiker with the LR.

Everyday I seem to find something different amongst the LR if I look enough. Like today when during feeding time. I saw something on the tank's front glass. It looks like a tree's branch, orange in color and it is 1 inch long. I have no idea what it is.

I didn't take a picture cuz the cam is too crappy and it won't take clear pics like the above.

Cool. I hope it is.
