I used to keep my crayfish with other fish but he was growing to fast to keep with the fish so i moved her to her own tank.

When she was with the fish she never stopped feeding like there was no tomorrow or it was her last meal. she would go mad to get the flakes before the fish and the algea tabs.

now she is in her own tank she has mellowed down her feeding habit, she still eats on a regular basis but not like before.

Is this common or was she just being selfish?

It's hard to imagine that those tiny little brains can hold so much personality, but I've witnessed my pleco displaying obvious greed. She ate so much she couldn't eat anymore, but she sat by the food and guarded it, attacking anything that came near. I wouldn't be surprised at all if your cray was trying to hog it all. :)

I find crays in general are more active, feeding or otherwise, when there is fish in the tank. I wouldn't think it was trying to hog it all, more likely it was to make sure he got food before the fish did - survival of the fittest and all that.

No fish = no threat of losing food.

Another thing to consider, if the water temp lower, crayfish will become less active.
