What kind of clams? Some clams are protected species and aren't suppose to be collected.

Not sure what species but they have the same kind for sale on a web site called Aquariumfish.net #7740 they sell for $1.60 each.

I think it's safe to say that if you bought them from a website or LFS, and have had them in your tank for a while... they've already been collected... the law is to keep people from taking them from the wild. don't worry about it.
