Specifics of the photograph
It was taken with my Nikon Coolpix 885. I'm not a professional photographer so no fancy settings were used......just the "closeup" pre-programmed one without any flash. Picture was shot through the front acrylic panel of a 6 gallon Eclipse aquarium. Bonnie and Clyde seemed to be posing for the pic which helped!LOL!!
They came out of my reef tank and it was always ready for them to return to if there were water quality issues. I would not recommend keeping them in a small 6 gallon as the only home available. I have, since this picture, sold them to a friend who could afford their picky eating habits.......chocolate chip starfish. They would go through one every 10 days to 2 weeks. Got to be very expensive!!

great photo... i looked at it and thought, "they're aliens!!!!!!"
then i found out they were shrimp.

Yes, star's are the Harlequin's primary food sorce..hence, its expensive to keep them in the tank...

Some have had luck keeping them if their tank is full of those little asterinia starfish. I had some of those too but not in big enough quantity to sustain them. Some will eat only Linkia starfish but mine preferred chocolate chip.

They still make me go "what the hell is that" way to make me feel bad! haha it's just hard to figure them out but once seeing that they are eating a starfish (sad) it's a bit easier...

Some things really should be left in the ocean.......these shrimp being one of them:) They are stunning to look at but because they refuse to eat prepared food it's both expensive and sad to see them eat the stars...........
