So as some may know I currently have a MaxiJet 400 for my 28gal bow FOWLR turning reed. I need to upgrade my inadequate powerhead and I wanted to go with Koralia's. Here is my question:

I was originally thinking of doing two #1s. This would give me about 28x flow for my tank. However, I was thinking into the future when I want to get a bigger tank and I was thinking of possibly getting one #3 as this would give me roughly the same flow (a little more actually).

So what would be better for a tank my size? two #1s or one #3? I think the two powerheads would make for better currents but I'm thinking of a #3 for future reasons....

Btw...does anyone know about these?

2 or more less powerful powerheads are better than one strong one. this gives you the option of relocating a powerhead to an area that may need more flow to prevent dead spots from forming

Unless the larger tank is in the immediate future I'd go with 2 #1s

Thanks for your replies!

You're right. I was thinking about it too and realized that two is better than one! Two #3s is probably overkill for my tank yeah?

you can have a win / win situation if you invest in a couple of vortechs. they will work well in a small or large tank.

I have (2) #3s in my 55 and I love it but I'd not want that much in a 28.

I use two K-3s in my 75 and my fish constantly struggle with the current. Those powerheads can really move some water.
