I've read on several sites about "aquarium sand" as a substrate...for a 125 gallon tank..What is and where do I get aquarium sand? For the species of large fish I have, sand was recommended.....Thanks for your input..

no such thing as aquarium sand to my knowledge but we all use certain types of sand for our aquariums. I myself use silica sand that you can pick up at your local hardware store. It may be labled as sand blasting sand but you can pick it up for about 5 bucks for 50 lbs which you need about 150 lbs if you are wanting 2" or more on the bottom. You can also get whats called play sand from home depot depending on where you are.
