I should have taped it, but I wasn't thinking about it... but last night right before lights out, I watched my redclaw crab grab a partially uprooted piece of long grass, about 9" tall... and pull it out of the substrate. then he carried it like a flag all the way to the oposite end of the tank and hung out with it in a cave for a bit.

today, it's back where he took it from.

I'm not sure what to make of it, but it was funny!

wow. in the few months that I've had crabs, I've seen them do some damage, but not that much.... what plants did you have?

mine only seem to like to eat anubias, grasses, and terrestrial mosses that I've collected from my backyard. they don't eat my glosso, floaters, or sag at all.

they do seem to like peas and pineapple... and algae sometimes. maybe you just need to suppliment their diets with vegetatable matter.
