My brother wanted to set up an amphibious frog tank and I was just wondering if he could keep fish in there too. He really wanted to. I don't know what type of frog it will be but it won't be very big. Also how will we do filtration? Do you even do filtration? Sorry, I'm new to this.

think of it as frog in a fish tank, and it will be a bit easier. yes, you can do it. yes, you need filtration, and you will want to choose your frog carefully, since many are toxic to fish.

What about a firebelly toad?

Depends on the size of the tank. what size tank are you setting up?

You could setup one of those turtle tanks with the cut-out for a power filter insert.

I had an old setup where I used a plastic mesh so the water could flow under the terrestrial portion of the tank and there was a pair of Duettos in there for basic filtration and water circulation.

Ten gallon tank.

In a 10 gallon I dont think you could provide enough water for any fish. If you just sloped rocks up for the land, with 4 inches or so of water, your only going to have a gallon or two of water and thats not enough for any fish.

Nope, well firebellys are toxic, and I dont think a betta would be the right kind of fish for not the best water. Little fish like rosy red minnows are suitible but not in water that a 10 gallon viv would give you. A betta isnt suitable for a gallon of water sharing it with toxic toads.
