Two small snails have appeared in my tank, they both have conical shells and appear to be harmelss to my plants and animals. The tank that I got my water wisteria from had a snail or two in it so I guess they must have laid eggs on my plant. Should I be worried about these hitch hikers?

I wouldn't, I like snails for the overall health of the tank. As long as you don't have a major outbreak because of overfeeding it shouldn't be a problem.

it sounds like you may have Malaysian Trumpet Snails. the reproduce fairly quickly, but shouldnt be hard to get rid of. if there are to many of them, just pick out the ones you can see and leave a piece of blanches lettuce in the tank overnight and take it out in the morning.

Snails can get to be a nusiance, I would eradicate them before they
start reproducing. Thats just my opionion of course.

as long as tank maintenance is consistant and you are careful not to overfeed, the snails should not become a nuisance that they can be. If one of these fails, you will know by the growing abundance of them.
