I have found snails in my HOB filter. How do you recommend getting rid of them? Just scrub the heck out of the filters?

Snails you WANT...and just got in the filter? and you want to keep them out.?

Or snails you DON'T want...like pond snails?? methinks your fish would eat small ones (?)

I have MTS in my tank. They are under control but I really don't want them in my filter. I really don't like putting snails down my sink drain when I am rinsing off my filter pads / cleaning out the filter.

I used to have tall background plants and I am assuming that is how they got in there.

Or is this a useless adventure and I should realize that they will be in my filter?

Thanks again!

pretty much they will find a way in there as they like to crawl every where. they even get sucked in the filter.

Ahh...IC...better MTS than the dreaded pond snail plague!

I have lots of MTS and ramshorns. I have sponges on all my filter inlets and rarely get any snails in the filters...could they be climbing up or getting sucked up the inlet tube?

I'm not sure if you ever actually can do enough to stop it from happening.
