What can I put in the water to help my snails shells?

My one snails shell seems to be in need of calcium. What are some good products to add?

Get a cuttle bone, a bird supplement for calcium. Just brake off a third and float it in the water, or use the whole thing at once, if your tank is large.

yer cuttle fish is the bast solution for calcium, but you can also use crushed egg shells and crushed sea shell.
cuttle fish is what i use and it works good for me, well my snails even lol.

Can you over dose?

I do have these seashell things I got for my rat to nibble on but they are colored and fruit flavored so I don't think I should plop them in the tanks.

I wouldn't use anything that's been treated, like your colored shells.

You can't really overdose when you use a solid form of calcium, like a cuttle bone or crushed coral, as far as snails are concerned.

However, the more calcium you add to your tank, the more likely your PH levels will rise. This may be a good thing, or bad. You just need to be aware of the water parameters in your tanks.

Yes, I keep a small peice of broken coral in my tanks to buffer the ph and my shrimps do well, just remember to leave any moulted shells in the tank, the shrimps will eat them for the calcium.
