I have this blob thingy in my tank. It has barely moved in 4 months. It just sort of changes shapes. It used to be in a loop shape, but now its a bigger oval shape.
What could this be? it's in the center of the picture on the live rock. the yellow watchman goby is on it in the second pic.

sponge of some sort maybe? Thats just my guess though. Haven't got a clue really. Does it look like it's got any polyps/tentacles?

Nah, there arent any tenticles... nothing like that. When I touch it with my turkey baster, it just acts like jello. It doesn't move really.

Your rock is sticking it's tongue out at you?
Love the pic of the Goby popping his head up.

It's a sponge, I have the same thing growing in my tank in two different locations. They seem to come and go and appear in different places as time passes.

I can't tell from the glare. It actually looks like it may be a colonial tunicate--does it have sort of a zig-zag pattern or anything like that? Try getting a pic without the flash and it will be easier to identify it.
I was thinking the same...the pattern doesn't look like a sponge. You need to get a pic where it can be the sharpest in focus.
