View Full Version : Need Help Identifying Newt

Hey there. I am in Belgium visiting some freinds and they have a pond. This pond has lots of Newts in it but we are haveing touble Identifying them. Here are the pictures please help us with any info that may help such as: What they eat, Aquatic/semi aquatic, what they do in the winter, and are they safe with fish. Thank you for any help. Wait I need to find a place for the pic first be back in a bit.

Okay, so I attached the top view of the Newt to the other message and here is the belly view of the newt, attached once again. Sorry I have no place to put the files on the web, info on that might be usefull as well. :D
So Initially we thought it might be a fire belly newt but we have had a hard time finding a picture of a fire-belly that actually looks the same as this one. Is it a fire belly or is it a newt that is natural to Europe. If it helps it has a fairly flat tail, taller than it is wide. If more info is needed please ask. Thank you.
