For quite a while my lone Kennyi hasn't been doing to well. He has only been moving one fin. He also seems to have a hole or some sort of indentation right behind his gill plate. Its sort of grayish in coloring. Anyone know what it is, solutions????

Thanks, Jacob

I just looked at him, now there is a white stringy substance coming out of the hole or somewhere near it.

not an expert on this sickness thing, but it doesn't really sound too good, but maybe you could run a search on fish diseases and there discriptions. I hope your fish gets better soon, salt is good for it though.

g'luck with it all

I think it may be Gill Flook.

I have to say, I don't know why the immediate reaction to illness or strange behavior of fish leads to compulsive additions of salt. If you don't know what the problem is, what makes you think salt will help, any more than adding baking soda or red food coloring?

If feces are strange-looking, a likely culprit is some sort of infection or parasitic infestation of the digestive tract. Fish Farmacy (http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/symptoms.html) has a pretty good diagnostic tree to help you zero in on the likely culprit.
