Hi guys

I needed help. My dad release a snowflake moray eel in my 5 weeks sw tank with damsels, clowns and some scallops inside. May I know what will the consequences. By the way, how do we feed the snowflake. I tried giving him frozen prawns but it refused to eat. Help.

Welcome to Aquaria Central! You will probably not face any consequences right now but as the eel grows the Damsels and Clowns will become dinner. I don't think it will go after the scallops but not sure. I feed my snowflake and Zebra Moray frozen shrimp (the ones people put on salads generally) and frozen scallops from my local grocery store. Give the eel a couple of days to settle in and he will start eating. They can fast for months so a couple of days is nothing for them. Good luck! BTW, what size tank is it?

My old eel (18 inch American Eel) LOVED shrimp of any kind. He learned to take frozen shrimp after a couple of weeks, and after that, he went bananas every time he saw me coming from the freezer to the tank. He also really loved mud minnows. I used to catch some in a minnow trap and put them in, ocean direct. I would typically put in 4 or 5 at a time, and they disappeared fairly quickly.
