hi! i have a spare 5gallon (16*8*10) tank that is cycling now and i was wondering what would be good fish to put given that i'm in a tropical country and the water flow is a bit strong (200-300 l/h). it has an internal filter by haiyang (powerhead + sponge cartridge). oh and it's bare as of the moment, no substrate.

for sure im including at least 2 otos, problem is they stay at the bottom. not much to look at in the long run lol

i have some ideas
Guppy's, Cherry Barbs, Honey Gouramis, Tetras, Danios, Cherry red or Ghost shrimp, Peacock gudgeon, Badis,
Wrestling half-beaks

Hope this helps.

thinking of guppies too. still canvassing for good breeders over here. don't want to get at the big pet store and lfs, overpriced and most likely stressed.

how many would do?

I don't know about the otos. They need a lot of algae and a 5 gallon may not have enough algae to support otos. I think a honey gourami and cherry shrimp would be cool.

a male betta and some cherry red shrimps. :)

The only thing keeping me from putting cherry shrimp in my tank is the fear my betta will eat them. Otherwise it's a good idea.
