i recently put a tank divider in my tank so my two paired angelfish could mate in privacy!but i had to put one of my angelfish seperated from the paired ones, was this a wise move? it seems to me that now the female angelfish always goes up to the tankdivider when the seperated angelfish goes up to it. as if she wants the other angelfish now, should i put the other male angelfish in there and switch the other male to the seperate side??im just trying to get them to mate, but i also feel sorry for the one that is seperated.

btw, the two males always fight eachother for the female or course.

It is better to let them pair off and spawn without the divider. Once they successfully spawn, you can give them their own tank. They'll actually do better with another fish to defend their spawn from. Without this challenge, a lot of pairs will tend to eat their spawns.

How big of a tank and what other fish in there?

hm....well its pretty full as it is in my 55 gallon, i have yellow lab cichlid, chocolate cichlid, paradise fish,2 dwarf gouramis, spotted climbing perch, the 3 angelfish, 2 corydora catfish, bolivian ram, my new kribensis!, and swordtail.
