I've had my LRWFO tank running for well over 6 yrs now and it seem to be losing its luster if you know what I mean. Does live rock need to ever be replaced? I do my every week water change and my fish look good but something needs done to that rock big time. I've thought about maybe adding a easy to take care of coral would help, but I don't know. Corals are too expensive and some are really hard to care for. Any recommendations out there?

Corals are a good idea and frags are usually pretty cheap. I'd post in the wanted section mate. Fwiw, I'd start out with softies like xenia, colts etc and go from there if you like the look.
just a thought

Live rock does need to be refreshed eventually. You don't need or want to change all of it though. Try changing a piece or two every week to avoid a new cycle.

What frags don't require a lot of lighting? I only have PC lighting in my tank and usually corals require a lot more, correct? Another thing my water temp seems to stay a little on the high side. I don't even have the heater plugged in and all summer the h2o stays in the mid 80's. Have the air on and the tank doesn't sit in a window. Is that temp hurting my coraline, because I've notice a reduction.

I've been thinking about replacing some especially the ones which have some apstasia on it. I can not get rid of that crap for anything. I bought a few peppermints and they disappeared, guess they got taken care of by my fish.

Put replica (fake) corals in there. They are colorful and you don't have to go through the trouble.

:)

You could grow shrooms, and rics. Some of them have a lot of colour and are very easy to manage.
