I have two pregnant guppies and one male in a 10g tank and both of the females are due any day now. There are lots of places for the fry to hide. What would be a good way to keep the females from eating their young?

a good way is to turn off the lights.
also do you have another tank or a breeder net you can put the fry in. most likely if the fry are kept in the same tank with 3 other fish, they will be prone to be eaten. few will survive.

fry will hide in plants most likely. and most fry will stay at the bottom or at the top of the tank. i've never had my fry swimming in the middle of the tank. dont know why.

I hope you have a lot of plants if you want any of those guppies to live. Some female guppies will spin in circles when they give birth and eat their fry as they come out. I suggest you get another tank to put them into, a breeding net to protect the fry, or these cool cheap little plastic contrapments from PetSmart that have a section for recovering pregnant moms and a place for fry to hide and be safe. It's less than 15$ in Canada. I hope that helps you out, good luck!

Your fry should be fine if you have plenty of plants in your tank. One such plant i recommend if you do not have it is hornwort. It is a nice bushy plant that will float on the surface.
As for females doing a spinning to devour thier fry, its something i have never heard of or seen in all my years of raising guppy fry. If your females are well fed, you shouldnt have to much of a problem. The only time when i have seen fry be soley hunted down by other fish in the tank were the yellow morph guppy. Reason why they are so hunted down is because the stick out like a sore thumb. If you are raising typical guppies with grey fry, they should be ok. they have a less of a chance to be spotted and hunted down by their tank mates. I would also shy away from any of those breeder nets or cages. They tend to stress out the female to the point of aborting her fry. They tend to become a waste of money in the long run and after awhile, you will notice that your fry will be born healthier and be very active in the tank if you just leave them in. Atleast give it a try.
And remember keep your females in good shape and healthy.. give them a nice varity of foods. The females tend to be more ravanous during this time.
