I was just curious to see if commercial fertilizers like the seachem flourish products can go bad...there's no expiration from what I can find.

also, what about PMDD solutions? I would think that maybe after a long time the compound would precipitate out of solution but otherwise has a very long shelf life.

thanks

Be very careful with commercial fertilizers. Some of them contain impurities that shouldn't be in an aquarium.

sorry for the confusion, I meant commerical products intended for use in aquariums like seachem flourish products.

specific product in question is this sutff called "leaf zone" ...it is maybe 2 years old and is basically the same stuff as seachem potassium.

If you want to dose K, why not pick up some K2SO4 or KCl which can be bought at your supermarket either with the salt products or in the dietary dept under the name 'NoSalt' or 'NuSalt'
I don't know much about the product you're talking about, but am skeptical of anything that's been sitting around for 2 years.
K2SO4(Potassium Sulfate) is cheaper than KCl, but a little tougher to find. Can be bought on-line here: www.litemanu.com
Go to 'Shop on line' - Nutrients - Chemicals and scroll down to Potassium Sulfate.
