I left friday afternoon, fed my fish, and he was fine. He ate and everything, just like usually. I was gone the rest of the day friday, all day saturday, and half the day sunday. I returned and the earth eater is just hiding behind the heater and in full color. He also would not eat.

ive had him about a week, and this is the first time he has acted wierd. My brother said he was fine. what is wrong

bioload is a bit much and that could very well have been what offed them.

this could be true, but wouldnt the african knifefish fall first? from what i have read, they are much more pickyer (is that a word?) about water condition than an earth eater

Perhaps the added stress of the new environment, although you had had him for a week.

Also I have been told they can be stressed if they don't have sand or small gravel, but I don't have any experiance with them, and I don't know if this is a big deal for juruparis or not.

Hmmm...somehow I doubt that it was the fishes' fault.

what the hell are you talkin about?

the first one was probably overstressed, as it came in the store, then i bought it a couple hours later. so after coming from chicago i believe, it was put into one fish tank, then takin out, put in my fish tank. it probably was overstressed.

the second and third were bought at the same time. the second one i believe was killed by the ambramite headstander.

the third is the mystery one. it could not have been killed, bc the ambramite was takin out, and the tank was thinned. my firemouth, and jewel show no aggression as there is plenty of territory. the parrot is wierd, it hangs around the top of the tank, while the earth eater was always near the bottom unless eating. the severum is just dopey, he (i think) just mopes around, not paying attention to anyone. the earth eater was the same size as the jewel and firemouth. the parrot and severum are giants compared to those though.
