hi well i have my 29 gallon tank set up for about two weeks i had it runnin for about a week with no fish then i went to the local pet store and thought i was buyin a cool guppy ? lol but it turns out to be the black moore goldfish i think the ones that are all black with big eyes well they seem to eat everything i put in the tank but they look happy well then i realized that there not a real clean fish to have in a community tank but i since added four red eyed tetras and an algea eater and the goldfish still seem to eat all the food almost i am thinkin of takin them out any ideas i want a little shark and some more tetras in there any advice would be great p.s i also had a frog in there the underwater ones and he just died today and he seemed to be not eatin and rigt before he died he was at the top all day any ideas thanx for much Jon

Goldfish generally dont do well in tropical tanks.
They are a coldwater fish, and if i were you id take him out and put him in a coldwater tank or back to the LFS (i have two of these goldfish!)

A shark? How about a silver shark?
They look like little sharks, but dont get to big and arent very aggressive.

yeah thats what i was thinkin about a look alike shark for the tank and also any ideas on the frogs behavior ? and one of the tetras is actin kinda the same way hes stayin by himself in the top corner and hes kinda jumpin and seems real skiidish is he dyin also im gonna do a test on the wate in the morn tank is only a two weeks old so its not cycled i assume should i add more of the amquel to make sure its alright ? thanx jon

anyone else got any thoughts about this i took some water to the fish store and they said it actually looked like i just had the ammonia spike so after that what happens my water looks a little clowded but the fish look happy although one of my red eye tetras is stayin near the top in one corner does this mean anything to anyone let me know thanx JOn

If the tank sat for more than 1-2 days without any fish, then you have no bacteria population to process the ammonia and nitrites. With a heavy fish load--and any goldies = heavy fish load--this is going to be quite toxic. Do lots of water changes, and get a test kit so you can monitor the levels.

Personally, I would take all the fish back and cycle the tank without them. There are threads at the top of this forum for both methods, but fishless means you get to start with healthy fish, instead of ones with ammonia/nitrites burns/poisoning.

agreed with oriongirl

BTW, daytona, your posts are kinda hard to read, think of using a little grammer? like punctuation?
