I setup my ten gallon tank 2 wks ago for the hell of it.. I have 55g thats doing great. My question is I have a Betta in the 10 g right now with 2 zebra danios and its going pretty good, Is there anything i can add without overstocking? BTW its my first betta and i never knew how cool bettas can be. When i got him he was in a cup with blue water and looked half dead, since i stuck in the 10 g hes very active and his color is very bright. And when i look at him he looks right back at me.. Its weird. Its like he came out of hybernation!

I would up the number of danios to about 5-7, but be somewhat careful with those danios, may be a bit too active for the betta. And if they are of the long fin variaty, you may want something else in there, corys I hear work well. If you want to get something else just make sure it doesnt have large fins, otherwise he will tear up the fins of the other fishies.

Glad you like your betta, I want a 10 with a betta and some corys, but alas, my dad won't let me.

I too ended up with a betta in a 10g I just felt soooo bad when I walked by them I had to get one so I picked the one with the least amount of water in his "cup" and am so happy I did it. I never thought much about bettas either now I want to buy more. Mine does the same everytime I walk over to the tank he will swim up to the front and "flair" like look how beautiful I am I just LOVE him!! He LOVES to eat frozen bloodworms too. When I put his "regular" food in he's like WTH wheres my bloodworms!!!

5 danios in 10 gallon is not a good idea. They are the most hyper fish EVER and need more room to swim than that. Personally, I would return the danios because they need groups and you don't have the space. I think bettas do better in just a betta tank, maybe some snails or try some shrimp. Some people have mixed results with both...

pygmy cories could add some movement to the bottom of the tank. They stay small as well.

zebra danios are also nippy, so beware, you could go heavily planted get a dozen shrimp a snail, and a few pygmy cories or something else

Couple of cory cats or a couple guppies would do well in a 10, neither of them will hardly grow after you get them.

Alright thanks for the ideas... I think a snail would be cool
