*note*: in NO way do i think ive seen it all when it comes to this hobby... but this took me by surprise...

i was taking down the last of my 40 breeder reef and look what i found... an astrea snail without a shell...

it was still moving aroudn and grazing off the glass and everything.
 
i dont actualy know. i asked on another forum if anyone had ever seen it happen and the only likely response i got was someone said occationaly the muscle that holds the shell on can deteriorate or just get weakened. besidesthat, i really dont know. the only other thing i can think of is i accidently dropped a pice of rock on it when i was removing it all and it just happened to crack the shell perfectly in half so the snail wasn crushed... but im thinking the first idea is much better :duh:
PS: i just noticed this guy: :bs: aaaand, i like him.
