I just found out that my bucket I use for water changes on my fish tank at work is currently being used to hold a box turtle one of my co-workers found out near the street in front of our offices. While I applaud the attempt to save the turtles life, I am not so happy about my water change bucket being used, especially after the turtle decided decorate the bottom of the bucket with its excrement. The people who used my bucket are planning on releasing it away from civilization in a forest near a pond, though one person was talking of keeping it as a pet.
My question is, what should I do with my bucket. I tried to wipe as much feces up as I could with a paper towel, but it will probably take more then just water to clean it up. I don’t want my co-workers desire to save a turtle, no matter how noble, to endanger my aquarium. What would be the best way to clean up this bucket, or should I buy another bucket, and only use the contaminated bucket for pulling out dirty water (and make the new bucket a new water only bucket.)
Thanks...
