I was looking at one of these AquaC XP Plus Reactors (or 2).

I was looking at the different types of media that can be used in them. From what I read it seems I can use:
-porous ceramic media, commonly named phosphate sponges; removes phosphate, silicates and nitrates via absorption and promotes denitrification (1.5qt.)
-cation-exchange resins and various mixed-bed resins; removes organic matter, copper and other heavy metals (24oz.)
Is this a Deionizing resin?
Would this work for me?
For those who don't know, I have very high levels of phosphates, somewhat high nitrates, and about 0.2ppm of copper in my tap water. I can't use a RO filter right now for various reasons so I am limited to using this tap water until at least Spring or next Summer. The only RO water I can get is at a Petco about an hour or so away and comes in pre-packaged 2 gal. containers for about $6 or $7 each. I'm not sure what this water runs at other people's LFSs, but this sounds like crazy prices for water to me.
