I'd love to see some pics of tanks used as a decoration or furnishing of a decorated room--whether formal, contemporary, or part of a theme (not just a close-up of the tank). For example...I love legendary frog's see-through tank in the dining room.

I'm sure everyone is snapping shots at this moment. Or maybe they are intimidated by legendary frog's set-up? I'm sure most of us have tanks in our living/family rooms, kitchens, offices--let's see your decor!

When I move -- I'm getting my dad to paint a rainforest type environment on one of my walls, and put my 55 gallon tank against it =D
He drew a nemo scene downstairs -- but no saltwater tanks so I didnt put my tanks near it =)
Heres a pic, if I had a saltwater tank I would try to get at least on of the members (nemo probably) and have him in the tank, and sit it right next to the painted nemo =)
It wasn't done in the pic..he added a lot more color but this was it pretty close to done..it looks amazing in person the pic doesnt show much for it.....

I know, I wish I was passed down his artistic genes but I really dont think so =( lol !
Heres nightmare before xmas ramdomly on the wall next to the nemo scene. I wanted the nemo scene, and my sister wanted the nightmare before xmas lol
I was talking to my dad and he said if we werent going to move, he would just get like a 20 gallon, with black and white gravel, and any stuff we could find to match since we dont have a saltwater set up, but were moving and it cant go with us =( Oh well plenty of walls in the new place!!!! lol!!

I think some of those aquariums would be next to impossible to clean, although when you have that kind of money, you pay somebody else to do it, so I guess its not too much of an inconvenience.
Although those look amazing, and aquarium in the wall looks just as good, if not possibly better, and i could do that.

I'm actually more interested in how the members here use aquariums to decorate or accent their homes in an everyday sort of way, but you can see--barely a nibble. Oh well!

you'd get more responses if you asked people to post pics of how they rearranged their rooms and furniture to fit more fish tanks, instead of how they fit the tanks to the rooms. who needs a garage? the car can stay outside, and the garage can be my fish room.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, but here is what we did to our dining room (in name only-never actually ate in there) for my 210g sw. We repainted, got rid of the nasty brass chandelier and replaced it with track lights, new curtains, etc. We also hung up a few ocean prints, and plastic fish(we pick up a few more every year at the Outer Banks) and shells...and the token Titanic reference:D. I have a ton more stuff to put up (pictures, prints, etc.) but just haven't done it yet...it's kind of a work in progress. I wanted a room that looked like it needed a big freakin' aquarium in it and not look like we just plopped a tank in the middle of our dining room as an afterthought.
All that's left IMO is a couple of hammock chairs right in front of the tank.

Removed a closet door and added a fish tank. I don't have a pic of before the tank went in. I installed this tank about 10 years ago . It was originally a full blown hard coral setup.

Nice. I love tanks built into walls. Do you have a lot of room in the back to work on it?

Thank for the kind replies.
I have only about 30 gups in there right now. I just moved all the other community fish into my 125 a couple weeks ago. I will have to see how long I can keep my interest with the fancy gups .The nice thing about the gups is that they don't overwhelm the tank . I had a bunch of tinfoil barbs and balas in there at one time and they got huge.
I did not have any problems with my reef , no it did not go south. I was worried about loosing the system during a hurricane , which we had a lot of a couple years ago(south florida). I did not want to worry about having to deal with a dead system at the wrong time. Also it was worrysome with all the pumps and sumps.Had a couple floods that went downstairs to the girl below me :(
Also with 1200 + watts halide and all the pumps I could not keep my condo cool in the summer . Ac ran continually and the temp was pushing 80+ during the day.
When I did disassemble the system it took me a complete weekend .
Right after I set it up fresh water we got hit with Hurricane Wilma and I lost power for 5 days. The reef would have been history anyway, and at the wrong time for me to want to clean up a stinkin mess if ya know what a mean ? :)
Sorry for the long post .

This is the back. It's a small closet so it's hard to get a good shot. What a mess :)

cats and fish tanks man.... what a combo.
mine loves my daughters tank as well, she sleeps in her barbie bunkbed and watches the tank, angry because the juicy treat inside is surrounded by the cats evil and very wet nemesis, water.
