I have three yo yo loaches in my 55 gallon tank. This tank really just recently finished cycling, and I did a bad thing and pretty much fully (over) stocked before it even finished. I used bio spira, and only had one death. (blue ram- duh!!)
I am slowly working up to moderately planted, but so far only have one tall crypt sort of plant, one bronze wendtii, one red wendtii, large bunch of med. sword, and two bunches of java moss.
My readings are ph 7.4, ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 5 (have stayed low- due to plants maybe?) KH- 4/5 GH- 2
Anyways, my stocking is in my signature, but I have 1 adult (3") kribensis (no idea if its male or female), 1 juvie (2") apisto borelli, 1 4" RTBS, 3 half dollar (body) size angels, 2 adult pepper cory, 3 adult julii cory, 4 checker barbs, 5 harlequin rasboras, 6 brilliant rasboras, 4 hatchetfish, and 3 2-2.5" yo yo loaches.
The RTBS is not shy at all, and cruises around quite a bit, not bothering anyone. The angels are beggars for food- all the time. My krib does get aggressive towards the others occassionally, but as far as I can tell doesn't do any damage. The borelli just avoids for the most part. But come dinner time, they all come out.
The yo yo's on the other hand are little twerps. They go up and school with my barbs and rasboras, annoy everyone, and are always into something. Is this normal? One of them kind of pecked at one of the angels today as well.
I feed a good assortment of flake, super soft krill (which is the meal of choice for everyone), baby brine shrimp as a treat sometimes, and HIkari algae wafers. I always drop more than i need to for the cories and yo yo's and RTBS, because once the angels are done eating (barbs too actually) they go down and eat the wafers. Am I not feed enough maybe? I also have freeze dried brine, but they don't really like it (the danios in the other tank do though), and the spectrum new life stuff they HATE.
Anyways, I just keep thinking I'm going to need to rehome the yo yo's... But maybe this is normal for them.
