I just purchased a group of M. estherae (Red Zebra) which have the blue males and red females. I notice this morning that the only dark blue male died which is probably due to being beaten up by one of the females.
1) Would I be able to breed an orange/red male with the females that might produce blue males?
2) What would the babies look like (the F1 of this spawning)? Males with blue and orange colouration, maybe?
3) Would I be able to make a population of blue males and females with the possibility of producing blue males with this? (ie. take blue male from F2 and breed with the females in P, parents of F1).
4) Is it true that wild-caught fishes have the possibility of producing both blue and red/orange males?
